The founder of Koentact, Koen Gijzel, will be featured in the new series of ‘Groeten uit Holland’ (BNN VARA/ NPO2). Meester Koen will teach Dutch to Habiba, Farida, Fatima, Aicha and Khadija, five incredible sweet and outspoken Moroccan ladies. To put the ‘classroom Dutch’ into action, Meester Koen sends the ladies on Koentact-style Field Trips.
In addition to practicing Dutch with intriguing people, the ladies also have to discover the Dutch culture. They will participate in the Wandelvierdaagse (a typical Dutch hiking event in Nijmegen), they go bootje varen (going out on a boat), fietsen (cycling), de hond uitlaten (walk the dog), they enjoy moderne kunst (modern art) with Koen’s mum, they visit the Deltawerken, and of course they celebrate Sinterklaas!
Similar to Koentact Dutch Language School and the Amsterdam Language Café, ‘Groeten uit Holland’ is all about learning a new language, different cultures, and – above all – making a real connection with others. You’ll see the funny and more touching side of learning Dutch and getting to know different aspects of Dutch life by five unique ladies who have called Holland their home for years.
