You have signed up for your Dutch course and completed the payment.
So, what’s next? On this page, you’ll find more information about all there is to know about our Dutch courses.
You will receive an email from us via info@koentact.nl in the week before the start of your course. In this email, we’ll share the class dates and times and the dates of our additional activities like the civic integration workshops, Field Trips and review classes.
On the working day before the start of your course, we’ll share the name and contact details of your teacher and the exact class location, including your classroom. For our online courses, your teacher will share the Zoom link with you by email.
We send this the day before so we can process requests of students who wish to continue with their previous classmates and/or teacher. We also make sure that each group is in a classroom that fits the group size, and that students who had their level assessed receive the details of the course that fits their level.

The classes of the in-person evening and conversation courses take place at ‘het ROC’. The ROC has many locations all over Amsterdam. The building where Koentact offers their Dutch classes is located at Da Costastraat 36, Amsterdam.
With a total of 16 classrooms, on Tuesday and Thursday evening, this school lives and breathes Koentact!
The classes of the in-person morning courses and Intensive Weeks take place at one of the following locations:
Op de fiets: The easiest and fastest way for most: biking to class.
Public transport: You can navigate to your class location by using 9292.nl for example.
Parking: You can park at the Q-park Europarking garage, located on Marnixstraat 250.
The online class take place through Zoom. Please follow these steps to get ready:
1. Download Zoom.

At Koentact, we are convinced that the best way to learn Dutch is by understanding its practical relevance. This means applying what you learned in the classroom during fun Saturday Field Trips!
Our Field Trips are not only designed to help you learn Dutch, but they will also let you discover the un-touristy side of Amsterdam, get in touch with genuine Dutch culture, and meet interesting locals. When you join us for an in-person course, you’ll be able to join us for 2 Field Trips, for every course you join!
Guided by your teacher, you will discover new parts of the city, get to know your classmates better and most of all: have fun. 💚
For our in-person courses, new students will receive a Koentact folder and pen. Students in level Dutch Experience 1, 2, 3, and 4 will also receive handouts of course slides. For higher levels, the slides will be shared online. You’ll receive lined paper to make notes, which you can add to your folder.
Besides the class materials, you can bring a reusable bottle for water, coffee, or tea.
If you happen to miss a class, you can let your teacher know about this. Your teacher will be able to share the class material with you, so you can study by yourself.
You can also join our free online review classes (A0-A2), which are held twice per session, to ask questions if something’s still unclear. These sessions are held via Zoom and take place on Friday evenings.
At Koentact you receive a certificate after finishing your course. This will mention the name of the course and the level you’ve reached. For example: after completing Dutch Experience 1 your level of Dutch is A1- according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The certificate will testify that you have completed the Dutch course (at an attendance of at least 80% of the program) and have successfully passed the final test.
