Dutch conversation course

A Dutch course for each level

At Koentact, we offer Conversation courses on Tuesdays or Thursdays. These courses take place once a week for a period of five weeks.

  • The course on Thursday (Intermediate) is suitable for intermediate (A2) levels speakers, students who have completed the Dutch Experience 4 course.
  • The course on Tuesday (Advanced) is aimed at advanced (B1/B1+) level speakers, students who have completed the Dutch Challenge 2/3 course.

During the Conversation Courses, we will focus on grammatical subjects and you will discuss interesting topics like Dutch news items, articles, and culture. You will learn more about the idiomatic use of Dutch. Your teacher will also guide you towards improving your writing and spelling skills by giving you homework assignments.

Why join a Dutch conversation course at Koentact?

Learning a foreign language is one thing, but being confident of your conversational skills is another! Like all things, it will get easier the more you practice. So if you’d like to boost your skills and become more at ease when talking to people, why not join one of our Dutch Conversation Groups in Amsterdam? On Tuesdays, we offer the Advanced Conversation course, and on Thursdays the Intermediate Conversation course.

1. Small classes & Field Trips

During the week you will spend your time studying Dutch in a small class, and on the second & fourth Saturday of your course, you can set down your books and put your Dutch into action during our Field Trips. These Field Trips focus on aspects of Dutch Culture, getting to know Amsterdam better, and – of course – using actual Dutch outside the classroom. See here how one of our teachers describes a field trip as her students experience it.

2. Free coaching for the Civic Integration Examination

From Dutch Experience 3 (A2-) onwards, you can join our free civic integration workshops. We offer three workshops of 2.5 hours each. The workshops are consecutive, so taking all three will give you enough information to prepare yourself for het inburgeringsexamen on A2 or B1 level.

3. Evaluation of your progress

Your progress will be evaluated during your course to determine if you are ready to move on to the next level. You will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of your Dutch course.

4. Free review classes (for Intermediate Convo course)

Are you good at conversation, but still not very strong in the basic grammar of A1 and A2? Then the review classes for levels A1 and A2 are the place to go! On the first and third Friday of your course, you can join this class for free.
